We built the importer we wished existed.

Meridian Fresh Global Private Limited was founded to close that gap. Premium imported produce in India has historically travelled a long, quiet route: an exporter sells to a consolidator, the consolidator sells to an importer, the importer sells to a distributor, the distributor sells to a wholesaler, and somewhere near the end of that chain a retailer puts the fruit on a shelf. Every step adds a margin, and — far more damaging — every step adds time and a handover where temperature control can slip. By the time the fruit reaches the person who actually eats it, it is frequently a shadow of what left the orchard, sold at a price that reflects the chain rather than the quality.

We decided to compress that chain rather than join it. We import under our own licences, hold our own consignments, and sell directly to two groups: households who want genuinely fresh exotic fruit at home, and businesses — retailers, modern trade, restaurants and wholesalers — who would rather buy from the importer than from three layers of intermediary. There is no third-party distributor between us and the person paying for the fruit.

Starting deliberately small

Our first line is fresh mangosteen, sourced from Thailand. It is a deliberately demanding product to begin with: mangosteen is highly perishable, bruises if it is handled casually, and has a realistic eating window of days rather than weeks. If we can move mangosteen well, we can move almost anything. It is pre-cooled before it ever enters transit, and is held in temperature-controlled storage on arrival.

For the same reason, home delivery is only where we can keep the cold chain intact to your door: Mumbai & Navi Mumbai today, with more cities added as our capability actually reaches them. Business orders are supplied across India, with each dispatch confirmed directly by our trade desk.

How we source

We buy by region and by season, choosing growing areas for their handling standards as much as their fruit. Beyond mangosteen, our pipeline includes berries, citrus, stone fruit, orchard fruit, specialty produce such as finger limes and exotic mushrooms, and both fresh and preserved truffles. Each line joins the catalogue when the season and the logistics genuinely support it.

You will notice that we describe every product by its region of origin — "sourced from Thailand," "Western Australia" — and never by naming the farms or exporters we work with. That is a firm and permanent policy. Those relationships are the result of patient work, and protecting them is part of how we keep quality consistent for the people buying from us.

What we will not do

We are a new business, and we would rather say so plainly than dress it up. You will not find invented review scores on this site, borrowed testimonials, claims about years of heritage we have not lived, or a count of customers we have not yet served. When we tell you mangosteen is best eaten within five days, that is the number we believe — not the number that would sell more fruit. Credibility earned slowly is worth considerably more to us than traffic won quickly.
